Hunter + Tesa | Kukio Beach Surprise Proposal on the Big Island, HAWAII
I don’t usually have parents inquire on their children’s behalf .. but this time, I’m glad Dannielle did!
She mentioned over the phone that her family would be vacationing in Hawaii and that her son Hunter was planning to propose to his long term girlfriend Tesa and asked if I could make it extra special for them.
Obviously I love LOVE and so I was more than keen to secretly work with Hunter and his mom to set up the perfect surprise for her. I met up with Danielle and her daughter the day before the shoot to pick the best spot possible, and also exchange a suitcase filled with blankets, candles, picture frames and a custom photo book that Hunter had created with memories from the past few years together.
The next day came and I arrived on sight early, set up the picnic and waited. H+T arrived, he proposed, she was surprised, and I think they both shared a couple of tears. THEN her family (who flew in secret) popped out of the corner and surprised her! It was the sweetest moment and I am so touched to see two families fully and lovingly coming together in honor of Hunter and Tesa. What a beautiful start to their marriage.
