Ashley and Jun matched on Tinder a few years back and the rest was history.

Their friendship is just incredible. I know I am a big softie but rarely have I seen couples be so deeply there for each other. The way they look at each other, the way that he always opens the door for her, the way she laughs at his jokes. It was endearing.

We met up at the Hilo Gardens on a rainy morning for a little engagement session the day before their wedding that following day. I love doing these sessions because they’re usually so calm and quiet before the hustle and bustle of the wedding day.

At first I felt bad that it was raining, as no one really comes to Hawaii for the tropical rains; I was happy to see Ashley and Jun not just happy but thrive and act out their “The Notebook” fantasy of running, hugging and twirling in the rain. Which if you think about it, is a testament as how their approach to life is. Everything is unpredictable, all you can do is run with it and just make it the best you can with what you got.
